Could you share some of these img files ?
Firmware updates for the STM32/Gotek HxC floppy emulators !

Re: New Alpha version Firmware - Volunteer Testers needed !
Regarding the write issue, is it better with this firmware ? :

Re: New Alpha version Firmware - Volunteer Testers needed !
Regarding img files not being visible in normal mode, these were just empty PC144 images created with the Floppy emulator.
I just tried test saving with v3.0.28.2al unfortunately there was no change.
2 failed images at link below

please share them.
You have used fresh/newly created images for the test ?Coolkeys wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2017 1:50 pmI just tried test saving with v3.0.28.2al unfortunately there was no change.

Re: New Alpha version Firmware - Volunteer Testers needed !
Yes with the floppy emulator.
Re: New Alpha version Firmware - Volunteer Testers needed !
Sorry not sure to understand. When an image have generate a write error you need to replace it since one or more tracks have been "damaged"/corrupted. Further read/write to this same file image will generate an error even if the firmware is corrected. Have you replaced the HFE files on the usb stick ?
Re: New Alpha version Firmware - Volunteer Testers needed !
Before testing I always generate new test files with the Floppy emulator software and copy them to the USB stick. Is PC144HD/720 hfe support working for you in your test set up, some of these issues should be relatively easy to duplicate and any eliminate Yamaha EX7 quirks.

Fine then.Coolkeys wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2017 2:35 pmBefore testing I always generate new test files with the Floppy emulator software and copy them to the USB stick. I managed to reproduce the issue on the previous firmwares, but this need more than 20/30 minutes write cycles to generate it. The interesting point with your setup is that you manage to reproduce it at the first write attempt.
To be confirmed, but the issue seems to appear after the firmware v3.0.23.5a. I didn't manage to generate any error with this version. Shame that you can't test it (In fact you can : just downgrade to this version and use the indexed mode with only on test HFE file. This way no need to any LCD and no need to open the synth.)
More tests to do this evening.
Re: New Alpha version Firmware - Volunteer Testers needed !
It seems that i forgot to add the img files in the filter list in normal mode, that's why you didn't see them.
Should be fixed now :

Re: New Alpha version Firmware - Volunteer Testers needed !
v3.0.28.3
OK one step forward + 1 backward Img files are now recognised in Normal mode, saving to image files reports no errors, however reading files back reports a new error "Unknown file format" image file link https://drive.google.com/open?id=0By14l ... 01vRlZnM3M
I have just tested write to img files in indexed mode in 3.0.28.1 and write + valid read back is working.

Better ? : https://hxc2001.com/vrac/HxCUSBFE_TEST_v3_0_28_4.UPDCoolkeys wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2017 3:48 pmv3.0.28.3

(i have no possibility to test the firmware right now, so if this still doesn't work, will have to wait some hours until i can access to the hardware).
Re: New Alpha version Firmware - Volunteer Testers needed !
With v3.0.28.4al the Ex7 reports a Bad disk error whilst writing to img files, 2 image files tested.
Re: New Alpha version Firmware - Volunteer Testers needed !
i have reverted the write fix attempts :
https://hxc2001.com/vrac/HxCUSBFE_TEST_v3_0_28_5.UPD
Should work as the 28.1 for the img files.
Re: New Alpha version Firmware - Volunteer Testers needed !
Omg you have got it working! It will be so much more convenient to use now. I have saved to 2 pc 144 img files one read back perfectly the second read back successfully the second time of trying. Anyway thank you it's a nice step forward.
**Additional Comments**
I have done some in depth testing and v3.0.28.5 looks to be unusable, will have to go back to v3.0.27.1a
I have noticed that img s containing files created with the Floppy emulator are not readable, and reading and writing to blank img files is very unreliable these features were working well in v3.0.27.1a.
