Yamaha SY77

Post by chrispoacher »

Hi, does anyone know the correct jumper settings for a flashed Gotek drive with hxc in a Yamaha SY77? Mine picks up the drive and key but when i load a file i just get a bad disk error. Is there a config file i can download also please. Chris

Additional :-

I've found the correct jumpers now, but i'm having trouble with images created with the hxc floppy emulator Software. Strangely enough, if i format the image that the SY calls 'bad disk' on the Yamaha SY itself, they format fine. Then i can save files to that formatted image all ok and even load the saved files back in perfectly.

I can load that new image into the hxc emulator software ok, delete the files and add new ones (720k PC disk format) and export; load it back into the SY and surprise surprise, bad disk error again. :(. Can anyone help me fix the problem?? I don't really fancy saving hundreds of files manually this way by dumping them via sysex thru midi when i could simply create the images on the pc properly in a fraction of the time.

Additional 2..

I found now that if i write the files to a real 720k floppy disk, then re-grab it using omniflop, then convert that image using the hxc software and export it to a .hfe file, it works fine. So what is going wrong with the normal create a dos disk and export in v2.1.6.0 software??

Chris

Did you ever get the SY77 working? I also have one and would love to replace the floppy drive.

In fact yes, but it seems that there is a compatibility problem with the disk browser present into the hxc software and the SY77. chrispoacher didn't send me the images so i can't fix the issue for the moment.
Anyway you can use a third party software like winimage to create your floppy images.

Un adaptateur 26->32 pins est obligatoir.

Formatage PC: MSDos 720Ko
Lecture, enregistrement et formatage avec le SY77: OK
Création image avec OmniFlop et hxc floppy emulator Software: Ok
