Seems fine.
Try this : start the software, open the serial port, connect.
If after some seconds the gotek is not detected try to make a contact between GND and RST to reset the gotek. wait again some seconds.

Shall I disconnect the power before and the tx and rx cables?

No no, do the reset procedure while all is up and connected.
don't make a permanent connection between GND and RST. One second is enough.

btw what is displayed in the "TX" & "RX" fields in the flasher software ?

tx moves from 0 to 10
rx is always 0

I have discover a blown up voltage regulator in the Gotek. Maybe I made a bad power connection at same point. I will change it and come back.

Thanks!

Good morning Jeff,

Back again! Wish you could help me....

Gotek connected to computer, not receiving instructions from the hxc soft.

Resetting (gnd/reset shortcut) makes no difference.

When connected to my Korg T3 it acts normally. Recognises pen drive and makes the partitions.

Only thing is trying with another computer but I only have W10 in all!!

Can I install the soft and enter my password in several computers to try? Or this is going to be block by your server?

Thanks!

no, no problem you can.

Btw the last picture is interesting : in flashing mode the screen should be off. Are you sure that the BOOT0 strap is correctly soldered ?

if rx is always 0 then there is a problem : the gotek don't answer - check the boot0 strap and the connections. You can also do a loopback test to check your usb adapter : connect the rx and tx signal together without the gotek. if tx and rx increase together then this is ok.

If I connect the Gotek to the serial and then to the computer, the display is black.

If I connect it without the BOOT0-VCC3V3 strap it lights. After this I put the jumper: that is why in the pics the display shows 000.

I have double check my soldering of the BOOT0-VCC3V3 stripes and is ok.

If I connect only the serial adapter to the PC, start HxC utility, open COM1, make a shortcut between the serial rx and tx and hit "connect" , tx varies but rx not.

no, you need to put the jumper before powering up the gotek.

This is not good at all. you need to "fix" this. Are you opening the right com port ?

Hello again, wish some body could help...

My Gotek is installed at the Korg T3 EX and I can see any hfe available.

Now, when I transfer via SMF any sample from Sound Forge to the T3 I can play with it and include it in any patch, but when the time of saving to the Gotek comes the T3 displays "ERROR: Disk Type Error". This can happen because the T3 has two different format possibilities: 1) PRO/COMBI/SEQ 4 Files and 2) PCM/PROG/COMBI/SEQ.

It seems that every hfe file I have is of the 1) type... is there someone who can provide the 2) type?

Thank you very much!
