Gotek hardware and HxC firmware

I have a Gotek SFRM72-FU-DL. I bought it thinking I wanted it for a device that required 720k disks but now would like to have it support 1.44 mb disks. If I flash it with HxC firmware can I gain this functionality?

Yes I would imagine so. I have upgraded my SFRM72-TU100K to HXC which was also 720k. Both 1.44mb and 720k models share the same STM32 microcontroller its boils down to the software really. Hardware is pretty much the same on both. If yours has the STM32 it should work.
