I bought a flashed device off of ebay. I converted a kryoflux image and put it on the root of the usb stick as DSKA00000.HFE.
I put the index mode config file on the root of the USB stick.
When I boot the machine with the gotek it displayed "HxC" then "000"
Every time I push a button on the gotek it would display "HxC" and then "000" as if it was rebooting. When I tried to read A drive it would light up the green light as if it was accessing the drive but then it would fail.
I decided to try upgrading the firmware. I put the latest upd file (it used to have 3.0.6.6a) and I do the upgrade procedure. It seems to work. But now when I start up it just always says HxC and never displays 000.
Then I deleted Disk 0.HFE and created a new 1.44mb blank floppy via the windows tool. I exported it and renamed it to DSKA00000.HFE. Then I copied it and made DSKA00001.HFE through DSKA00004.HFE. Still nothing. It always just displays HxC. I tried going back to firmware 3.0.6.6a but it still just displays HxC.
What should I do?
I also deleted my

Should be : DSKA0000.HFE through DSKA0003.HFE.
And don't forget to copy the indexed mode CFG file :

Sorry, I meant the 0001-0004 were in addition to the original 0000. So I have those. I also had copied the index config too.

I think Jeff's point was to double-check the naming convention. DSKA0000.HFE, DSKA0001.HFE, DSKA000x.HFEThraka wrote:Sorry, I meant the 0001-0004 were in addition to the original 0000. So I have those. I also had copied the index config too.
Note the number of 0's in each case. It's DSKAxxxx.HFE where there's always 4 number characters. Maybe it was a typo in your messages before, but they had the wrong amount of places.
