Korg DSS-1 and Gotek HxC

Hello! I purchased a preflashed gotek off the auction site, ad have installed it into my Korg DSS-1 - I can not get it to work. I have tried the floppy cable both ways, and I have it set to S0 -

IN one configuration, the green light stays lit, and in the other its off. The little built in LED in my USB stick flashes 7 or 8 times no matter what config.

I have added the .cfg file, set up as Amstrad CPC, and am using an 8gb usb flash drive. I have converted a .dsk file to HFE and put that on the drive. I can not get the DSS-1 to load anything.
