I have flashed my Gotek drive with the HFE firmware so the display flash “HxC”, when its power. I’m planning to use this drive with my Atari ST and I have therefore loaded the Atari ST package (Including AUTOBOOT.HFE and HXCSDFE.CFG).
I then plugged the USB into the flashed Gotek drive and it now shows “000”, but when I click the left and right knob then it don’t go up/down. It just shows “HxC” when I click and still “000” after my finger slip the knobs.
What do i do from here if i want to open the USB-stick on my Atari? (Please help)
Flashed Gotek and Atari problem
Re: Flashed Gotek and Atari problem
HXCSDFE.CFG has to be set to Index mode and the disk files have to be named like DSKA000x.HFE for the up/down buttons to work in that way.
Re: Flashed Gotek and Atari problem
Connect it to the ST, i think that you will understand

Re: Flashed Gotek and Atari problem
Looking at the three modes and from judging. Then I find “Autoboot” more convenient for me as I don’t have extra display and 3 knobs on my Gotek drive.
I’m using a Atari st. 1040 with TOS 2.06
The process I have done until now:
1. I have therefore formatted my USB stick to Fat
2. Copied the AUTOBOOT.HFE and made a .St file with an Atari software, which is on same stick.
3. Booted my Atari and tried opening the stick.
This is what I get:
I know its German but it says

Re: Flashed Gotek and Atari problem
Set the jumper to S0 and take care with the floppy ribbon connection.
What display the gotek?

Dear Jeff,Jeff wrote:Set the jumper to S0 and take care with the floppy ribbon connection.

Thanks for your answers and your time.
1. First, I would like to know, what difference would it make to set the jumper to S0 compared to s1?
2. If the floppy ribbon connection was wrong, wouldn’t I then get the bomb icons at the bootup and no access to the desktop?
I also had another thought, could there be something wrong with my USB stick? (I had a SD-cardreader for my C64 in the past and I remember, that it couldn’t use SD cards over 2 GB) (The USB stick is 4 Gb)
This is what my Gotek display:
Re: Flashed Gotek and Atari problem
Have you copied the CFG and autoboot file to the USB stick ? If yes, try to change the stick.
Should have "000" once the autoboot file is mounted by the drive.

I can confirm, that everything worked after changing the USB stickJeff wrote:Have you copied the CFG and autoboot file to the USB stick ? If yes, try to change the stick.
