I2C LCD Screen display not working with Gotek & Atari ST

Hi.

IC2 screen is illuminated but no characters are displayed. Gotek works perfectly.

Setup:

Atari STFM
Gotek with HxC Firmware version: 3.0.6.2a
I2C: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161200022257? ... EBIDX%3AIT
Resistors (4.7K Ohm): http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281273174412? ... EBIDX%3AIT

Connected as per firmware notes:
SCL & SDA to J7 - both with 4.7 K Ohm resistors in line (tried without resistors with same result)
VCC & GND to J7

AUTOBOOT.HFE & HXCSDFE.CFG from SDCard_HxC_Floppy_Emulator_Manager\SDCard_HxC_Floppy_Emulator_Manager\Atari_ST installedf to root of SD card

Slots 1-10 filled with .st games files. Gotek Up/down buttons select games and they play OK.

Resistors need to be "pull-up" connected from SCL to Vcc and from SDA to Vcc
(with SCL SDA connected to J7)

So, I have removed the inline resistors from SCL and SDA and replaced them with 1 resistor going from SCL to VCC and 1 from SDA to VCC.

The result is still the same - the screen powers up but nothing is displayed.

Success! The pot on the back of the screen needed adjusting. All working now.
