Data error after writing (HxC Gotek)

Post by bjt »

I have a Gotek with latest HxC firmware in an IBM XT.
I can write 720k/DD format images to the USB stick from a Windows PC and read them on the XT, no problem.
I can write files to an image on the XT too.
However, if I try to copy/read the files that were written on the XT, I get "Data error reading drive A".

Have tried 2 different USB sticks, no change.
Will try a new floppy controller shortly.
Will also try a 360k image, in case it's related to data rate.

Any other ideas? Thanks

I should also add that after writing to the image on the XT, the image is no longer readable in the HxC software in Windows - it gives an error about bad sectors. Will check the exact error message later.

Update - I tried another floppy controller, no improvement.
I have a 1.44MB corrupted image (windows HxC tool won't load it) but it's too big to attach.
Let me know if you want me to email it.
