Gotek Big Problem

Post by ast »

Hi,

I've got a big problem with my Gotek.
Actually, i used my 3p1/2 cable to plug it on my amstrad cpc (Side A, Drive A)
But, when I want to save any datas on my Gotek, i've got the "read fail error".
Load runs correcly, but save is a real problem for me because it crashes a lot of hfe source code!

Can someone help me here ? Have you ever seen this kind of problem? How do you solve it?

Thanxx a lot!

I dont have the files because when it crashed, i lost all i had (part of source code of iMPdraw, my paint tool), so i deleted the corrupted files. I don't keep any copy:-(

You can find the same problem here.

Without these files i can't do anything...

Anyway according to our link, this seems to be an usage problem : Yes you should wait than the machine finish the write before changing the image / ejecting the stick or anything else... exactly the same as a floppy disk.

I understand all that, but it's not the problem.
The Usb Key is inserted in the Gotek, the file 002 is selected for example.
I do :

save"img.scr",b,&c000,&4000

if i do that a second time, i have the "read fail" message and then the hfe is corrupted!

It's not a problem of taking the usb key during the writting. I'm not so craaaazyyy :)

Issue solved : Reason -> Bad / Old firmware used. Solution : Update it to the current version.
