Flashing LED on the USB stick itself.

Post by Jidis »

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what does the periodic flashing of the drive's activity light mean? I had been using one with no light and wasn't aware of it. It's about two seconds on - two seconds off, and it seems to start doing it only after I've changed from one image slot to another.

Is it safe to remove the drive when it's in that state?

Thanks!

PS- This is in an S-550, and I'm not 100% sure what my jumpers are on the Gotek, but it might be "SO" only.

With hfe files the stick is blinking because there is no enough ram memory in the gotek to store one full track. The drive is then working in "direct to disk" mode. If you are not saving something you can remove the stick.
