s900 issue

Post by matmat »

Hi there, having a few issues with a hxc emulator i have fitted to an akai s900. I downloaded the 900 pack with the hxc drive file and the blank images for the 900.

basically when i select the disk images i get a message on the hxc screen saying "bad file" on most images. some do not and the 900 appears to save to the selected disk. but when i turn the 900 off and back on there are no files to load.

I am not sure what i have done wrong here but i am pretty lost with it. Card is fat32 formatted and contains only the needed files.

Any help would be very appreciated.
thanks
Matt

5v seems absolutely fine and have tried several cards, one of which worked fine on an emu and a 950 with other hxc drives fitted.
beginning to think its the drive at fault maybe.

I bet for a power supply issue ;).
Please try the drive on another machine.

psu is outputting a very healthy 5v, but the hxc still says bad file on most of the downloaded disk images. Drive responds to save but doesnt appear to save or the 900 is unable to show any files on the image.
what jumper should be on? as i am stumped.
best wishes

a handheld and a bench multimeter.

when saving the red light stays on after and file name changes to wens on first few letters.
almost like it doesn't complete the save.
actually tried 2 hxc emulators in the unit and i get the same on both.
i have tried a card that worked with the hxc and an emax but not in the 900
cable orientation is correct and have tried a different cable to the drive.
jumper is set with just the first one, the one bellow the "on"

have tried the 900 disk pack from here and some others downloaded from other users.
