Akai MPC60II

Post by jchiet »

I have a small annotated album up at http://goo.gl/mX3Sj and a link to the working .hfe file (empty disk) at http://goo.gl/LZWRo. CFG is standard shugart emulation with jumpers set for single drive with twisted cable. Next step is to dremel open a window for the LCD/buttons. The MPC60II is far better suited for this than the MKI, having an expansive plastic display area with ample space. I don't plan on allowing easy access to the HDSD card, as I have no amassed library on floppies and don't use sample libraries. A relatively small 8GB card will give me over 11,500 virtual floppies.

I've added a few pictures to my album to show the HxC board mounting.

Some more pics, video and info up at https://picasaweb.google.com/1027204551 ... pyEmulator#. The install is turning out great and so far m only complaint is that it makes the replacement backlight I just installed in the MPC look weak indeed. :)
