Slim HxC Installed in a Amiga 500

Post by Rylos »

This went much better than I expected... I used a 3.5" PC Floppy bottom case. The hard part was getting the height right and placement. for the placement I used double sided tape to hold the Slim in place while I adjusted the mounting location. then I marked and drilled the mounting holes.

btw, the stand off I used were rs-232 mounting nuts, 2 screwed together on each mounting hole of the Slim.

Nice work. So do you just press the button through the 3.5" slot?

And if so, do you have really Slim fingers? ;)

Also I heard someone saying Lego bricks are the perfect height. Is that correct, and if so would one just Super Glue them to the underside of the Slim?

Starglider - Thank you and Yes, the button sticks out enough that its easily felt and pressed. Fingers... short and stubby :)

Goddy - Thanks, your pics didn't load but I'd really like to see them.

This looks quite good! Thinking about doing the same with my Gotek. I am wondering about the spacers you put between the case and the Gotek. Could you provide another picture showing the spacers?

Thanks!
