Sure - here it is

Re: 2.8" QD Disk Emulation
Seems completely corrupted. I suspect a buffer overflow due to a slow usb stick. Which usb stick are you using ?
Re: 2.8" QD Disk Emulation
yes but this is not the first time i see a corrupted track like this. Definitively the Kingston is better. (Sound attached )
Now i will patch this QD file to try to find why it doesn't load.
Re: 2.8" QD Disk Emulation
Attached some images to try to read.

Re: 2.8" QD Disk Emulation
Hmm. I could not get any of them to load. I just retried with the old 612 flute sound, and that loads in about 6 seconds. with the files that does not load, it takes more than twice as long before I get the bad data error. Could it be a missing EOF information or something along that line that make it fail? Just a wild guess.
Re: 2.8" QD Disk Emulation
Yes this can be something at the start of the track and/or at the end of the track. The track data are for sure valid since the CRC is ok.hoby wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2019 8:56 pmHmm. I suspect that the controller is relaying on some kind of write splice or something like this.
Btw this machine appears to have some "undocumented" Fujitsu controller similar to the one used in the Roland machines...
The good question is why it can read the S612 image without issue while the format S700 can't be read.
One thing to note : Due to a better sample encoding the S700 track is smaller than the S612 one. The track size is similar to the Roland track size.
Maybe this is again a different ready length or rotational speed issue ? I have the felling that there is 2 kinds of quickdisk drive regarding these parameters but i am unsure for the moment.
Anyway this a real pain in the a*s not having these gears on my desk. I bet that this a "20 minutes to fix issue" but with the way we are working this take literally days & weeks...
Re: 2.8" QD Disk Emulation
Yes, I can imagine...It is pretty weird it reads bot the s612 and the roland samples.
I would be happy to send you the quickdisk, but as it is not working, I dont think it would make much sense. Just another problem. And I guess it is really the sampler you would need.
I appreciate the work, and let me know if I can do something at my end.

Re: 2.8" QD Disk Emulation
This time lets play with different timings :

Re: 2.8" QD Disk Emulation
Had a closer look to your pictures : The Akai X7000 use the exact same controller as the Roland machines : MB87013 + MB89251A
Interesting...
The S612 (MD280) is a different design.

No, unfortunately it is still the same
