Bonjour Torlus and Jeff, my french is not very good so I#m posting in the english section. Thanks for all your efforts in this great project.
Do you plan to add support for Commodore C64/C128 computers? (e.g. 1541C emulation)?
C64/C128 1541 support
Hello tteich,
I'm sure, it's for you http://jderogee.tripod.com/project1541.htm
Have you heard about this project ?
Arnaud.

Anyway: do you plan to support the 1541 with your project sometime in the future?
This is indeed the quickest and easiest way to have things working with full compatibility. However, it should be possible to replace the full 1541 unit, but that would be a different project.AmiDog wrote:I'm also interested in 1541 support. Replacing the drive mechanism with something more reliable while still using the 1541 motherboard to get full compatibility would be great.
Maybe people here could tell if they would rather get a "1541 unit + floppy drive emulation" than a device such as the 1541-III (I guess for some non-standard stuff not handled by the 1541-III).
FPGA 1541 emulation is already available for the C-One project (it's an early alpha, but development is at least happening).
see the news item for 25th September:

my vote:
a replacement floppy drive for the 1541 while using the 1541 circuit board would possibly be easiest - and keep the C64 fans happy as well. (if it is a generic 5.25" floppy emulator you could have a new 'market' with Apple computer fans as well)
though I would personally rather have a full 1541 on a FPGA/PIC/whatever just so it saves space. Then I could build it into my C64 case (or DTV64 if it is small enough!).

Yes 1541 I/II or other Commodore drives besides Amiga would be cool.

sorry in german only.
Looking forward to this but some Hardware that supports more Computers would be much nicer.
