Negative effects of removin file extensions ?

Hi, I just removed the file extensions of my converted Amiga and CPC disks to shorten the filenames a little;)
Old was "Disk1_adf.hfe" or "Disk1_dsk.hfe" now new its only "Disk1" etc.
The Hxc loads them without any problems. Are there any negative effects of removing the file extensions ?

Actually the windows tool need the extension to load an hfe file. but this will be fixed.
