Maybe this actually belongs in the Akai section of the forum since the procedure I'm looking for seems pretty specific. Anyway, is there a step by step guide on how to manipulate the contents of the .hfe files on Akai S900 and S1000 samplers in the emulator software? What I would like to do is access the individual files so I can organize sound banks I create more effectively.
I can't for the life of me figure out how to get this to work as it always comes up with some error (Null sized DOS image ! Invalid disk !). The files I'm using to test are the quickstart files but I've tried exporting them as a .img file and still comes up as an error. Any advice would be appreciated.

Ok, so I figured out that you must create the disk by selecting a formatted 3.5 disk image. Next add the .img file, but when you do that's all it shows. Is there a way to see the contents of the .img file or did I have the wrong impression of how this is used?
