all those HxC devices, and still no clue about them...

Post by farvardin »

I see many HxC devices on Lotharek, but I don't really understand the differences between them. Why selling all those different models, instead of just one?

REV C, Rev F, SLIM SD

For Rev F, it says it's compatible with Rev C:

How can you use them together? Or do they mean, "as a replacement of rev C"?

If I understand well, rev c are not cased? While rev F are cased?

I also don't see the difference between:
http://lotharek.pl/product.php?pid=149 (SD FS SLIM)

and http://lotharek.pl/product.php?pid=116 (SD S CASED) (maybe this case is smaller?)

It will be for a yamaha EX5, so probably this one will be good enough? http://lotharek.pl/product.php?pid=149

It strongly depends on, for what you want to use the HxC. For example, when you are a Amiga-user and you have two or three Amiga-500 models on which you want to use the HxC. Then the best option would be a Rev. C with the external case.

When you have one Amiga-500 and want to place the HxC inside the Amiga-case then the best thing would be a Rev. C without case.

Some people which have a Amiga-600, which has a smaller case than the Amiga-500, built a Slim version of the HxC inside the Amiga-case.

When you have a big Amiga-tower (A4000 for example) or when you have a big CNC-machine in a factory, then the most people would take a Rev. F and stick it in the provided free shaft that this machines have. Also many Synthesizer users would take a Rev. F, i could imagine.

So you see, it completely depends on, for what you want to use the HxC.

Look at the pictures here, then you can make an impression:

Hi there - between Rev C and Rev F is there any functionality difference? Would Rev F be "better" in terms of more supported devices, more configurability etc?

Basically I need a device with a case, suitable to be external.

thanks!

No, this is the same design. Same machines supports, same firmware.
