Help for a newbie.

Post by ozmic »

Hello, I am a newbie here. So, apologies beforehand.
I am confused, so I have some questions.
I bought the SD FB Floppy Drive Emulator - BLACK CASE, to eventually use with a Roland MC50 Mrk2

Before installation, do I need to run the software with it?
I have NO floppy discs to convert.

If I do need to run the software (I assume yes), what step do I start with in the manual (as I have no floppy disc files)?
https://hxc2001.com/download/floppy_driv ... al_ENG.pdf
Also, I do not have access to an IDE socket as my PC does not have that capability (seems to be viewed as antiquated by modern motherboard makers).

A friend said he has an IDE to USB adapter.
Can I use that?

And one other question.
I have never bought an SD card and have no idea what size I need. Could someone inform me the exact type I need?

Thanks a lot.

Read "USING THE HXC2001 and SLIM SD FLOPPY DISK EMULATORS" at http://www.isis-mds.com/downloads-list.html

The SD cards are so incredibly huge (e.g., 8GB) compared to a 1.44MB 3.5" floppy, what size is irrelevant. I used 8GB, they're cheap.

No files? At minimum create a .hfe on the HxC using CREATE BLANK DISK.
