HxC Used to replace a TEAC FD-235HF using a FC-1

Post by FCross »

I spent quite some time reading up on all the success stories from users who have replaced the FD-235 drive. In all the previous cases I have read, it wasn't clear if the drive was using the TEAC FC-1 interface board or not. I don't see why it would matter, but you never know.

The HxC software can read my disk as 80/2/18x512 Dos 3.5" and makes the image without any errors. I've loaded the SD card with the disk image plus the config file. The unit starts up and loads the disk image but I get nothing after that. The power LED is on then goes to flashing when the backlight turns off. No other LEDs ever flash.

Any ideas?

There was one attempt some years ago to connect the emulator to a FC 1 board without success until now. I suspect that some extra pull up are needed.
Have you some tools/oscilloscope to "debug" the thing ?

I have lots of tools and a scope available. I just need some direction. I don't mind doing any mod or test required to bridge the unknown :D

It is a FD-235HF 7713, I have also seen several other versions of the 235HD drive such as the 3700. All of them use the same jumper settings and all of them have worked fine.
