Setup for the SD HxC emulator

Post by Hans »

Hello Jeff.

After using the emulator for half a year now, I'am very
satisfied with it.

I have one request about the text on the display.

Is is possible to display filenames without the hfe extension.
Like L-Dos_dmk.hfe ---> L-Dos.dmk
May be it can be done as a option in the setup.

Regards

Hans.

Although i don't recommend this at all, you can remove or change the file extension.
The emulator doesn't use it to recognize the image.

I don't want to change the filenames.
I only want an option to change the way the filenames are displayed on the little dispay.
In som cases the filename start scrolling because it is too long, if you can suppres 4 characters it makes a difference.
Just like windows and other languages do.
It has no need to show the extension of a filename if there is no other available.
Just BASIC is enough to know that you mean BASIC.EXE

Well, there is a space in the HFE header to specify another name. A PC tool to fill this field may be usefull here...

I've got to say I agree with Hans on this one. There's no need to display the .hfe extension on the small LCD because everyone knows it's an HFE file. Being able to navigate between longer filenames without the LCD horizontally scrolling would make it much nicer/faster to use. Just a suggestion ... :)

I too agree with Hans and the others, an option "Display .hfe extension (y/n)" would be quite useful.
The main reason being that filenames could be longer without scrolling, it takes a lot longer to browse through a bunch of disk images once the filename starts scrolling.

thanks

Hi,

where can I find this option, NOT showing the ".HFE"-extension ?
I cannot find it...
