Firmware update 8.2.24 doesnot work

I have updated the firmware for my new SDCard HxC with dissapointing results.

I have followed the setup information and use a new FAT32 formatted SDcard.
The software is sent to de emulator without errors and the emulater boots up.

But if I go to the setup menu I cannot exit it.
If I Select an image I cannot load it, after a few seconds the select message is back and
no disk is selected.

It seems that there is a continue interrupt disturbing the main loop. The display is continue
showing some activity on the background.

Is there something wrong with this update ?

sdcard model used? please post the exact model number !

can you try another one (brand/model) ?

I have used a brand new Philips Class 4 HC card with 8 Gb.
and a Sandisk Ultra with 16 Gb (30 mb/sec)

Both with the same result (not working)

Upgrade with version 7.2.0 has no problems at all on both sd cards.

Very curious: the lastest version was tested with 20 differents SD without any problem...
What are you using to format your sdcards ?

Can you make a video of the issue ?

EDIT : you are talking about config menu: do you mean the main config menu ? (-> working without the sd) ?

EDIT2: Can i get the exact models of the sdcard printed to the back?

No, not at this moment.

I format the SD card's with windows XP formatter.
No errors, no messages.

I have not put a CFG file on de SD card, only the UPD file.

The update on the emulator gives no problems.
I see a row of squares running and the red led is flashing.

After about 20 sec. it stops and there is a menu pop up.
Some items do work and some I cannot exit.

Then I insert the SD with images.
I cannot open the menu.
I can browse through the files, but when I want to load a file with the center button.
Some time the display blancs and the I get the message "select file"

If I look at the display, it is not steady. The re is some kind of flashing in the background.
As if there is some activity going on.

mhh interesting. are you pushing a button at this point ?
this look likes the selected/middle button is pushed ...
EDIT : i mean :you shouldn't enter this menu without pushing the middle button...

Hello Jeff.

I solved the problem.

I put a default config file on the SD card with the firmware.
(The manual says only the UPD file)

After updating I got a message about missing hfe files.

Now it seems to work.

Jeff, sorry.

After a cold start,
power disconnected and a fresh boot, the problems are back again.

Downgrade to the earlier firmware version solves the problem.

Any suggestion (maybe the hardware, which is new)

Thank you for the 24/7 service.

The new update flashes whithout ane problems at the first attempt.

It works now as expected.
Turning on and off gives no problems.
So far this version looks oke.

One question, after updating from an empty SD-card with only
the update file, the emulator ends with the message No HxCSDFE.CFG file found.
All buttons are locked and turn off the power is the only option.
After a restart everything is fine. Is this normal behaviour ?

Yes the message "No HxCSDFE.CFG file found" is normal if this file is not on the SD.
