Hey jeff,
there is a big demand for scsi emulators , with your skill do you think you can attempt a sd card emulator , samplers/amiga users would love the above.
there is no other viable solution , basically like the hxc floppy but hxc scsi would be awesome.
Please consider this as I would personally love a hxc scsi sd card reader.
Make it happen Jeff

Sorry but what do you call "an scsi emulator" ? An hard disk emulator ?winsten wrote:Hey jeff,

Re: HXC scsi sd card emulator
well yes and no,
scsi bridges etc acard cards are getting more and more expensive and then you need to pair them up with cf/sd card readers, then some are incompatible to hot swap etc,
theres a lot of information on amiga and sampler forums about cf hot swap/ etc and they all seem to use variations of the bridge shown above.
so a all in one solution , something that can simple plug into a internal scsi connector and simply use a sd card as the "harddrive"/"zip drive" without the fuss of trying to aquire the acard bridge above and one of the hot swappable bay's (ide to cf).
you can see how long winded getting this chian to work is and how many parts you need to make it work.
you can call it a harddrive emulator/ zipdisk emulator etc, many samplist and amiga owners would really appreciate such a device and im sure they will sell well enough to be a viable future venture.
something similar to your rev F hxc, so you can install on the actual unit would be awesome.
Thanks

Hi,
you can try these (they use Compact Flash instead of SD card):

Re: HXC scsi sd card emulator
thanks for the suggestion however I was aware of those but to the best of my knowledge they are not hot swappable nor are they in the the form factor I would like,
there are a lot of scsi based devices and some samplers, do not work with some chipsets, or card readers etc, I want a hxc solution to this problem, I have seen other card reader based devices but they do not sell to the public mainly to the textile and military industries.
Im hoping on jeff to deliver a working clean and tidy solution like the floppy emulator.

There are already SCSI Multicard Reader solutions from Mechware which you can check them out
- Here: http://a4000t.com/store/index.php?main_ ... cts_id=180
- And here: http://a4000t.com/store/index.php?main_ ... cts_id=250
I have used this in my A4000 with an adapter from 50pin to 68pin (UW SCSI) without an issue. It's not as fast as the ACard getting speeds up to 3MB/s tops but it's rather nice and convenient.
