Minimig Amiga emulator on FPGA - first pic

Post by gizmomelb »

first pic of the Minimig v1.0 Amiga emulator on an FPGA - interesting to see that it's "floppy drive" is an MMC card connected to a PIC (as I suggested in my thread here - http://torlus.com/floppy/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2 )

http://www.amiga.org/modules/myalbum/ph ... 890&cid=13

The specs are:

Processor: 20Mhz MC68SEC000
RAM: 2Mbyte 70ns SRAM
FPGA: 400Kgate Spartan-3 (XC3S400)
Boot/system controller: PIC18LF252
Mass storage: MMC flash card

Power: +5VDC (approx 100mA without mouse)

I/O:
dual PS/2 port (mouse/keyboard)
dual 9-pin joystick port
VGA port
RS-232 port
audio-out

misc.:
jtag interface, power/drive leds
reset and OSD button

There is an other project of floppy emulator based on MMC and uC for Amiga:

Eh, if the Minimig guy sells his boards, it would be a good basis for a "MiniST" project (68K hooked to a FPGA, and all necessary I/Os).
With that IP Core which is already available, it could be worth a try :)

Bad news: Dennis doesn't plan to product his board.
