Kaypro 2: can I run Hxc with my (good) floppy?

Post by hails »

Hi -Hxc doing great :-)

But I do want to get my 5.25" floppy drive to work at the same time. I've got a twisted cable and dip switches 1 & 6 are on.
My old floppy which works great on its own I've tried it as A and B by changing the floppy jumper.
I've also tried it with 6 OFF.

Is there something else I should try?
What about terminators?

cheers in advance!

I should have mentioned: my objective is to always boot from HxC (as A:) and use the floppy as B:

Would be nice to copy files between HxC and my real floppy :-0

Set ID0-A on the floppy emulator, and set the drive jumpers as the second drive.

Hi Jeff - just tried that, and no luck. Interestingly if I go to B: and do a directory listing the HxC clicks and gives me an identical directory listing of the A: drive!

(drive lamp for my B: drive does not come on)

I have just one image on the SD card.

I also tried it with and without termination on the floppy.

Do I need to change the defaults in the emulator settings? I have tried it with "2 Drives Emulation" switched OFF.

I have a twisted cable. Does that have any bearing on things?

thanks!

Yes, possibly. Try both on a cable without the twist.
