Possible bug?

Post by snhirsch »

I may be missing something, but I'd expect to see a difference in the saved XML when changing options in the "Raw file format configuration" dialog of HxCFloppyEmulator. In particular, I'm trying to understand the semantics of the "Tracks of a side grouped" and "Side based" options. But regardless of how those are set, when I generate the image and save as XML the resulting XML is always the same.

Here is the underlying problem: I'm trying to create a working blank HFE image that can be used by a Heath soft-sectored controller (this is a different, though related, issue to my requests for a Heath hard sector emulation). This particular format is what I would term "Side based", in that the data is written from track 0..39 on side 0, then 39..0 on side 1. Nothing I tried seems to work in the emulator (Gotek) and when I save the XML it always indicates data stored alternately on side 0 and side 1 progressing inward. How can I specify the proper arrangement?
