However, would I need to flash/bootload it and do the whole firmware thing on it then?
no since this is in the emulator.

btw have you removed all others jumper on the board ? On S0 is needed.
Ok will try this!

How do you mean removed? There's only one jumper which is on the s0. I assume this is right?

Ok, I emptied another drive (with fat32) and put some libraries on it which I renamed. Now the sampler freezes at "Executing", which is less than with the other flash drive. When I had the original floppy drive which didn't work I was still able to go to the menus etc.

So I'm going to post all the steps I've went through (maybe it's good for someone else in the future as well).

1. I connected the power and ribbon to the Gotek floppy emulator, with the jumper set to s0 and the rest empty.
2. Took the drive and updated the firmware by copying the files from the zip-archive and replacing the ones on the drive.
3. Put the drive into the floppy emulator, held in the two buttons and started the FZ-10m which seems to have successfully updated it.
4. Copied a couple of .HFE-files that you provided and renamed all the .HFE-files on the drive DSKA0000.HFE, DSKA0001.HFE etc.
5. Went to Config files> Indexed_mode and copied the .CFG-file to the root folder.

I'm gonna take the emulator out and provide pictures of the whole thing.

By the way, on the flash drive should it only be .HFE-files or also the firmware folders etc. Or doesn't it matter?
This is how it's looking at the moment if it's of any use:

Here's what it looks like with the original drive inserted:

And here's with the second one (only libraries):

And yes I know, shoudl've gotten a black gotek.

Nothing is loaded from this stick (the gotek only show "hXc").
Try another one and/or check that only jumper S0 is installed.
Take care to use the indexed config file and to properly rename the files images using this scheme : DSKA0000.HFE,DSKA0001.HFE,DSKA0002.HFE,...

Ok i think i found your mistake : You still have the very old 3.0.8.2 firmware on your stick ! Please remove this file and update again the gotek drive !
This old firmware don't support the new config files...
When you update the firmware take care to only have one UPD file on the stick root folder.
Current firmware version is v3.1.32.1a.

Do you mean HXCFEUSB_V3_1_23_1a.UPD? The link for the latest firmware is named v3.1.32.1a but the .UPD-file inside the archive is named the previous name. I'm assuming this is just a typo, and that the v3.1.23 is in fact v3.1.32?

Anyways I updated the firmware now and.. It works!! Man thank you so much for helping me out with this and taking your time, I really appreciate it. :)

The v3.1.32.1a is in the "WIP" folder ;)

Would the average person need a tech to put this in? Or is it just standard plug it in like a floppy thing?

Hey there,
I purchased the Lotharek Emulator for my Casio FZ1 Keyboard.
Installed it and prepared the SD Card like here in the forum explained.
Saving works, but loading doesn't... seems like it starts loading and then really nothing happens or the FZ1 freezes somehow.

So, I dont have any old samples which i like to transfer. I want to sample new sounds and save them straight away to the SD Card.

I put up some pics from the screens and the emulator...

So, could you advice me what i have do or whats wrong?

Thank you very much :-)

Tobias
