Hi there....maybe someone can help....I have been using the hxc on my oberheim dpx...and it works fine
A friend of mine gave me an Emulator II hxc image but my oberheim dpx cant load it....
Here is an example of a dpx file (Piano) which works fine with my hxc reader, and the emu eii file which doesn't....
http://we.tl/x7cRbAvTOA
do i need to do something to be able to load the emu eii file...when I import it using the hxc disk software, the software reads it and gives no errors...
when i try to load it using the hxc reader my DPX, the Oberhein says NF , not formatted
Thanks!
Mike
Issues loading EII hxe files into Oberheim DPX
Re: Issues loading EII hxe files into Oberheim DPX
Is it something doable with true EMu floppies ?
Re: Issues loading EII hxe files into Oberheim DPX
Hi Jeff
i believe the issue is as follows:
the dpx has two seperate floppies drivesm the 3 ince and 5 inch ones
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_rScBRKlTdoE/T ... G_2725.jpg
the dpx can load akai s900 floppies, prophet2000 floppies and emu emulator ii disks
both the s900 and p2000 images work fine for me as they are from the 3 inch floppy drive
but the emu eii fuiles would be images of the 5,25" files i.e. the lower disk drive in the photo above
maybe i need to change the hxc config file when trying to load the emu ii ones?
i hope this makes sense....

Re: Issues loading EII hxe files into Oberheim DPX
Hi Jeff
Thanks for your help!!
Switching to IDA-1 enables me to load the ermulator II images!
However now the Prophet 2000 and Oberheim DPX images wont load
i have tried all of the different switches on the back, but it doesnt seem to help
either I can load the 3.5 inch floppy bay images OR the 5.25 inch floppy images....but not both, without having to change the switch at the back, which then stops the other type from loading....

Re: Issues loading EII hxe files into Oberheim DPX
Did you ever get this resolved?
Re: Issues loading EII hxe files into Oberheim DPX
There is nothing to resolve since the DPX seems to use a different FDC for each drive ID : One able to read the prophet and dpx disks and the other for the Emu disks.80sboy wrote:Did you ever get this resolved?
Maybe that enabling both switches in the same time on the HxC (ID0-A + ID1-A) will allow you to load both image type... to be tested...
Re: Issues loading EII hxe files into Oberheim DPX
I don't have hxc for my dpx yet but you have to convert the eii files into dpx 3.5" format with E2DPX in the DPXTOOLS suite...
http://users.skynet.be/emxp/DPX.htm
It is command line so an easy way to run the conversion is by making a BAT files, easy to do...
