Ensoniq Mirage Help Please!

Post by 5c4r7 »

I have an Ensoniq Mirage Rack and I am using the external black cased Rev C HXC. I have a 1 GB card and I have managed to create an image using Omniflop. I have created the config file and copied both the image and config file to my SD card. When I boot the mirage the HXC powers up, I can select the Mirage floppy image on the HXC but I then get a UD error on the Mirage and RA and WR flash on the HXC LCD screen. I am testing with the Mirage floppy images that Jeff posted in a previous thread:

http://torlus.com/floppy/forum/download/file.php?id=110

And getting the same error. I am using a twisted floppy cable. The jumper is set to ID0 / Drive A. I posted a video demonstrating my issue:

http://youtu.be/wZd9XNurRLQ

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

The floppy cable is reversed...
Reverse it on the ensoniq motherboard and on the HxC, this should be better.

Hey Jeff,

I did that already. When I do that, the Mirage does nothing but freeze up with 2 lines on it's display. Reversing it this way was the only way I could get the Mirage to do anything.

In this case reverse the floppy cable + change the jumper setting.

The floppy cable red wire must be on the right of the floppy emulator's connector.
Don't forget to reverse it into the ensoniq too.

Ahh yes. I was referring to that. As you can see in my previous post, my jumper is currently set to Drive ID0 / A. When you told me to change my jumper settings it confused me.

Thanks again,

In this case replace the "error" video on youtube by a "working" one.

Sorry, I did try to delete it previously but I guess it didn't take effect. It should be gone now.
