Export EFE, GKH and EPSi files to HFE ???
Hello,
I just recieved a ASR-10 from a friend who was no longer using it Since I no longer have any solution to read floppy disks I equiped the ASR-10 with a SD Emulator Revision F
This emulator is fantastic, it works like a charm
I'm totally new in the keyboards world and the ASR-10 is my very first keyboard... So for now I was able to export (using the HxC Floppy Emulator soft) some .EDA files and the Ensoniq 3.53 OS ... and play with some piano sounds and ROM FX sounds
Beside that I also have some .EFE, GKH files and some other .EPSi (voder, transwave etc...) files which logically should load in the ASR-10 ... the only problem is that I have absolutely no idea on how to copy them to the SDCard
If somebody was already lucky enough to load such kind of files ... may I request some help ???
Many thanks in advance

The question is : how to do this with a true floppy disk ?Ensoniq-ASR wrote: Beside that I also have some .EFE, GKH files and some other .EPSi (voder, transwave etc...) files which logically should load in the ASR-10 ... the only problem is that I have absolutely no idea on how to copy them to the SDCard

Re: Export EFE, GKH and EPSi files to HFE ???
Good question Jeff ... I'm maybe simply thinking the wrong way (The main issue of being totally new to something) and those files can simply not be imported to the ASR.
Initialy my main goal was simply to find some more files/Sound/effects to feed my ASR-10 with (With it, I only got 1 single floppy disk containing the OS and 3 sounds) ... and I was thinking this was maybe something possible with some files found on internet (which apparently were Ensoniq files )
... But again I'm absolutely not sure about what's possible and what's not ... (I was able to convert some .EDA files to .HFE and maybe it was something similar with the other kind of files )

It seems that there was some programs available to do this :

EDIT : EPSDisk seems to do the trick : "Just" Add EFE files to an EPS/EDE image and convert it to HFE.

Re: Export EFE, GKH and EPSi files to HFE ???
Interface mode setting problem ?
Re: Export EFE, GKH and EPSi files to HFE ???
possibly ? but i can't find any clue
let met explain more clearly
i have various formats files that i want to convert to use them with my ASR10
EDA files work perfectly (and convert into 3,82MB files)
EDE/GKH files don't work (and convert into 1,91MB files)
my guess is, they're converted into smaller files, are they could work as well on an EPS ? (DD vs HD floppies ?)
i've tried various options while converting (except RAW convert, who's too technical for me)
i've also tried your EFE2HFE software (that makes 1,91MB files, so for EPS ?) and have the same problem as EDE/GKH files
i've (unsuccessfully) tried to use tricks, such as converting formats with eps disk software, mount files using VFD ... i have no clues ...
so, please, if you do have an idea that could be of any help ...
thanks a lot ...

Re: Export EFE, GKH and EPSi files to HFE ???
Try to change the interface mode to "IBMPC_HD" for 4MB files and "IBMPC_DD" for 2MB files.
All can be done directly on the HxC device : remove the SD and press select to enter the menu.
(get the latest firmware).

Re: Export EFE, GKH and EPSi files to HFE ???
i had installed latest firmware while making my tests, but i did not notice that built in menu
great feature
now it works changing the interface mode, thanks a lot (it's very slow, several minutes for a single DD floppy but who cares, it works, and i save it using ASR10 format once i read it once !!!!)
thanks again for taking time to help me, for developping that great unit, and making it to evolve !!!

In this case there is a interleave/gap setting problem.Duchemole wrote:it's very slow, several minutes for a single DD floppy but who cares, it works, and i save it using ASR10 format once i read it once !!!!)
