Eii HXC hanging
Eii HXC hanging
I have an HXC SD Rev C running 1.6.0.0 that has suddenly started hanging up when I try and enter a folder and all I get is the [ >.. Choose a file ] message and a solid yellow LED.
I have the same result with both of my cards that were previously working fine as well as a brand new San Disk card. Has anyone else had this error?
I have gone over my connections and they all seem fine, and even if I disconnect the HXC entirely I get the same result. Is it possible for the firmware to corrupt in the process of normal operation?

Did you have updated the firmware ?Nigel99 wrote:I have an HXC SD Rev C running 1.6.0.0 that has suddenly started hanging up when I try and enter a folder and all I get is the [ >.. Choose a file ] message and a solid yellow LED.

Re: Eii HXC hanging
No, I had not performed any firmware operations, the HXC was working fine a few weeks ago but I do recall having a scrambled display on a few occasions but the HXC worked fine after a restart.
I did try and update the firmware to fix the issue 3 days ago but the same problem persists.

Also : Try to switch off the sound of the hxc in the config file (use the hxc software for this).Jeff wrote:mhh Can you check the power supply?Nigel99 wrote:No, I had not performed any firmware operations, the HXC was working fine a few weeks ago but I do recall having a scrambled display on a few occasions but the HXC worked fine after a restart.

Re: Eii HXC hanging
I power was the first thing that I checked - its at a fairly steady 5v
Re: Eii HXC hanging
I will build a new config file and let you know how it goes
Re: Eii HXC hanging
Jeff,
I have had no luck with the new config file. Still the same problem.
When i attempt to navigate to a folder the HXC goes back to >TRASHES.
If i can manage to enter a folder and attempt to load a file I get >>>!Bad File!<<<
Sometimes there is a slowly flashing amber LED. This is with both the ribbon cable attached and also the same behaviour when it's not.

Re: Eii HXC hanging
Please try it on another power supply. (In a PC for example).Nigel99 wrote:Jeff,

Re: Eii HXC hanging
Still the same with a PC power supply.
Re: Eii HXC hanging
Ok. When did you get your floppy emulator ?Nigel99 wrote:Still the same with a PC power supply.
Can you check the SDCard power supply voltage at the SDCard connector ? You should have ~3.6V.
Re: Eii HXC hanging
PC power: 5.12
Eii power: 4.98 - 5.00
Eii power: 4.98 - 5.00
Re: Eii HXC hanging
Ok I will check it and get back to you soon. I posted the power supply voltages for you to look at.
Re: Eii HXC hanging
I get 3.51 at the first longest pin on the card slot
Re: Eii HXC hanging
