Hi Everyone,
I have an E-MU EMAX I with the HxC Floppy emulator installed and I converted some .EM1 files to the .HFE format to be used in the SD card. Also, I edited many sound banks in the EMAX and saved some new .HFE files in the SD card with my modifications.
So, my question is the following: is it possible to converter these .HFE files back to the .EM1 or .EB1 format? I am asking this because I would like to use the EMXP software (http://users.skynet.be/emxp/) to convert my edited sound banks to another sampler format.
Thanks!
Is it possible to convert an .HFE disk image back to .EM1?

Yes this is technically possible, but i must add these functions to the software. Since there are many request regarding EMXP, i will make a wrapper for this software to directly manipulate HFE files.calcaarmario wrote:Hi Everyone,

Hi Jeff, that would be great as I have many .HFE files that I edited directly in my EMAX and that now I want to use EMXP to convert them to other formats!
Would you have any estimate for this implementation? Hope that this is not something too complicated to do!
Thanks!

*** NEW UTILITY: IMG2EMX v1.00 (August 2014) ***
This software can convert floppy disk image files from OmniFlop or HxC to .EM1 and .EM2 files which are supported by EMXP. Scroll down to download IMG2EMX.
IMG2EMX is a small software utility which is capable of converting EMAX floppy disk image files to EMX (.EM1, .EM2) files.
Thanks to IMG2EMX, you will be able to use software like EMXP to process the sound banks stored in
- OmniFlop disk image files created from EMAX floppy disks
- HxC raw sector image files created from HxC EMAX .HFE files (*)
Simply convert these floppy disk image files to .EM1 or .EM2 files with IMG2EMX, and you can use EMXP to process or convert these .EM1 or .EM2 files.
(*) Note that IMG2EMX does not support .HFE files directly. You first have to convert the EMAX .HFE files to .IMG (Raw sector format) files with the HxC software.

Hi mario do you maybe sell your old floppy drive from your emax 1?
