Can't load .hfe banks and cannot update firmware

Post by markcamp »

Hello

I have an Emax II
I have installed the HxC floppy emulator.
It reads "FlashFloppy v3.29" on power up

Using HxCFloppy emulator software on the Mac, I have converted some Emax sound files to .hfe and stored them onto a thumb drive.

When I try to load them into my emax it says "Bad Bank On Disk"

I am trying to update the firmware of the HxC to see if that will solve the issue. I have placed "HxCFEUSB_V5_2_1_2a_OSD_U100LQD.UPD" onto the root of the thumb drive. Power up the emax with the 2 buttons held on the HxC and it says "FF Update Flash [E01]" and the firmware is not updated.

Any help appreciated to get this working.

Thanks!
-Mark

You don't have the hxc firmware on this gotek. The first step to do is to install it : https://hxc2001.com/store/

Thank you for the reply. Installing the firmware is what I am trying to do

Here are the steps I am following:
1. Format thumb drive as DOS Fat32
2. Copy "HxCFEUSB_V5_2_1_2a_OSD_U100LQD.UPD" to root level of the thumb drive
3. Insert the thumb drive into the gotex
4. Hold down the 2 buttons on the gotex
5. Power on the Emax
6. Wait 2 seconds
7. Release the 2 buttons

Results:
The gotex display reads "FF Update Flash [E01]" and the firmware is not updated

Is there something I am missing? Is "E01" some sort of error message?
